Remainder (“Remainder,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a mobile application owned and operated by Filter Consulting, LLC, a limited liability company based in Missouri, United States. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
By downloading or using Remainder, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Your tasks, schedules, projects, and time records are stored on your device and synced through your personal iCloud account using Apple CloudKit. This content is governed by Apple’s privacy protections; we, the developer, do not have access to the contents of your CloudKit data.
If you connect your calendar, Remainder reads your events on a read-only basis to display them in your schedule and plan your tasks around your meetings. This works two ways:
calendar.readonly permission) along with your email address. Your device fetches your events directly from Google; the events are stored on your device and in your personal iCloud, like every other block in your schedule. In both cases, we do not transmit your calendar events to our servers, and we never write to, change, or delete anything on your calendar. You can disconnect a calendar at any time in the app under Settings → Calendars. For Google, you can also revoke Remainder’s access from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Google user data and Limited Use. Remainder’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In plain terms: we use your Google Calendar data only to show your events in your schedule and plan your day around them. We do not use it for advertising, do not sell it, do not transfer it to third parties, and no humans read it (it never leaves your device, so we could not read it if we wanted to).
If you use the app-blocking feature, you select apps and categories through Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls system. Apple represents these selections as opaque tokens that we cannot read — we never learn which specific apps you choose to block or allow. These selections remain on your device.
When you subscribe, Apple processes your payment. We do not receive your credit card or payment details. We receive and store subscription status and transaction records from Apple (for example, whether you have an active subscription, when it renews, and refund or cancellation events) to manage your access and understand our business.
We use the information described above to:
When you use the AI feature, the text you enter (and, together with it, limited context such as your project names and working hours needed to build a useful schedule) is sent through our secure server to a third-party AI provider, Anthropic, which processes it to return a suggested schedule.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only as described here:
When you tap one of our ads on Meta (Facebook or Instagram) or TikTok, the link passes briefly through our own server before opening the App Store. At that moment we record the click: which ad and campaign it belongs to, the click identifier the ad platform attaches to the link, your IP address, browser user agent, and country. If Remainder is installed and first opened within the next 7 days from the same network, we connect that install to the click using the IP address and device type. Click records are deleted after 90 days.
When a matched install leads to a trial or a subscription, we report that event back to the platform that showed the ad, using the click identifier that platform attached, so it can measure which ads work. These reports include the event, the subscription price, and, when we have one on file, a hashed (unreadable) version of your email address for matching. They never include your tasks, your calendar contents, or anything you do inside the app.
We do not embed advertising SDKs in the app, and we do not read or use your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA). We also participate in Apple’s SKAdNetwork, a privacy-preserving system that measures ad campaign performance in aggregate without identifying you individually.
If you did not arrive through one of our ads, none of this section applies to you: there is no click to match, and nothing about you is shared with any advertising platform.
The information we collect on our own servers is stored in the United States using Cloudflare and Neon infrastructure. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls on our systems. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If you access Remainder from outside the United States, understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:
For users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and similar jurisdictions: our legal bases for processing are performance of our contract with you (to provide the app), your consent (for tracking and certain analytics), and our legitimate interests (to improve and secure the app). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@remainder.co. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
You can delete your account and associated personal information at any time directly in the app: open Settings, tap your account, then choose “Delete account & data.” This removes the personal information we hold on our servers (account identity, subscription records, support conversations, and related data) and disconnects any linked Google account. You can also request deletion by emailing us at support@remainder.co.
Note that content stored in your personal iCloud is controlled by you through your Apple account; deleting the app or your iCloud data is managed through Apple.
Remainder is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@remainder.co and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of Remainder after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
